I know I'm not lying when I say that every girl out there wants to feel beautiful.

But what is the true definition of beauty?

Well, the actual definition states it as this: "The quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.),a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as apersonality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest). "

So beauty is of the mind. But what we teenage to middle aged women tend to think is that true beauty comes from clothes and weight and a perfect complexion. When we say that someone is beautiful, it tends to reflect that that person has no flaws. We, as vulnerable and weak people, enjoy looking up to these "perfect" people. We try with all our little hearts to attempt to become a copy of that one "beautiful" person, and what we don't know is that in the end, they're just like us. Looking up to and trying so hard to become this unobtainable image of "perfection".

We're all like this. Whether we like it or not. We all have a goal that is related to our appearance.

So why can't we deal with what we have and love ourselves? It's because of what the media has done to our minds. Like brainwashing, they've stuffed this image into our heads that tells us "in order to be beautiful, you must be perfect". But what is this perfect they speak of? Who do we look up to in order to get the true meaning of perfection? We look at the media's mascotts.  Celebrities, and other "important figures". We see them up there, looking like gods and goddesses. "We are not worthy" the public says, bowing at their feet.

But are we really?

It is human nature to become jealous of others. Someone has a better boyfriend. Someone has better grades. There's always going to be someone better. But there doesn't have to be. Because there is no one else in the entire world that is "you". You can be perfect, but not their definition of perfect. You're own perfect. It's your choice on whether you want to look like them, or start looking at yourself as your own role model. Perfection can be obtained, it's just the way you perceive it that changes the outcome.

Beautiful is a word and an image that the world has deemed unreachable. But how about we change that?

Very well written  I love the wording about a ourselves that is very true  Society and the bullshit expectations placed on people is messed up  there are so many people that think they need to change to be beautiful when in reality they are beautiful and perfect just the way they are
